Writers are constantly in motion, whether it’s scribbling in a journal, pounding away at the keys, or lounging in a hot shower with the lights off and their minds exploring beautiful worlds and characters.

They never stop moving.

They are also artists. Writers can take a pile of words and arrange them in colorful displays to show dragons in flight, lovers in a nasty quarrel, or an old man clutching his heart. Each arranges their words in a different way to add style, voice, color and rhythm.

“From the first sentence we [readers] need to catch sight of the breadcrumb trail that will lure us deeper into the thicket.” – Lisa Cron

Just as readers take a journey through each story, so do writers take hold of their wizard contract in one hand and traveling bag in the other to go on an adventure. From the first spark of an idea to the final spit and polish of a killer story, writers keep in constant motion through drafts, revisions and edits.

During the months of June and July, 12 writers are taking the journey with #RevPit editors Jeni Chappelle, Carly Hayward, Maria Turead and Justine Manzano. Hàlön Chronicles is hosting the journey for two of the twelve writers, Melissa Bergam and #RewriteItClub co-host K. J. Harrowick.
